Born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 21st, 1979, Dornfeld’s parents decided it was only appropriate to name her Autumn as it was the first day of that season. Dornfeld is one of five children and became heavily involved in the dramatic arts in high-school.
Dornfeld’s intellect and talent attracted the attention of many universities but the offer to attend the University of North Carolina (UNC) as a Morehead Scholar was an exceptional opportunity and honor that should could not decline. In addition to performing in numerous productions at UNC, Dornfeld also appeared in regional productions with the PlayMakers Repertory Company where she received a City Search Award for Best Supporting Actress in the production as Anne in “A Little Night Music”. Dornfeld graduated with a BA from UNC with Highest Honors in May of 1999, receiving the Andy Griffith Award (excellence in acting) and the prestigious David Hammond Award (highest achievement in Dramatic Art).
After leaving UNC, Dornfeld accepted a position at the Director’s Lab at Lincoln Center in New York City and then continued on to perform in dozens of theater, film and television productions (credits). Recently on stage in New York as “Beth” in the Beebo Brinker Chronicals, Dornfeld recently appeared on Broadway in “The Graduate” with Lorraine Bracco and toured nationally in the same production with Morgan Fairchild and Nathan Corddry. In 2004 Dornfeld made her big screen debut in the independent drama ”The Undeserved“.
In 2007 Dornfeld married renown New York Stage Director Michael Sexton, the two are currently living in Brooklyn, NY.
